Question by Dawn N: Is there help in your area? For anyone who can’t afford urgent veterinary care for their sick pets.?
I have read so many posts the last few days where owners have sick cats/kittens and they can’t afford to get treatment for them. Rather than allow your pet to suffer, there are Organisations out there that may be able to help.

THERE ARE QUITE A FEW ORGANIZATIONS HERE, SO BE SURE TO SCROLL THE BOTTOM.

KEEP THIS INFO IN A SAFE PLACE FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.

YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN IT WILL PROVE TO BE HANDY.

Here is a list of organizations who can help owners that cannot afford
vet care. A couple are for rescue organizations and homeless pets.

American Animal Hospital Association

treatment and their sick or injured companion animal pays the price.

“If the owner is elderly, disabled or on a fixed income, the cost of
care may be too much of a stretch for their pocketbook.

layoff and are experiencing a temporary financial hardship making it too
difficult to afford pet care.

“And some animals, brought to clinics
by Good Samaritans, don’t have an owner to pay for treatment.

“Through the AAHA Helping Pets Fund, veterinary care is possible for

Question by Shani: Is there a way to take care of your dog while living in dorms?
I know there is a very slim chance of it happening but i wish i wish I didn’t have to leave me dog with my mom for a year until I get my own place. I haven’t gone off to college yet, I’m gonna be a senior in HS. I know very very very few colleges allow pets other than fish, and sadly I’m not applyin to any of them. I thought about a kennel, but that’s a lot of money for a whole year. I doubt I’ll find a way to do it, but I will just miss her so much, especially being in a new environment for the first time. It would just be good to have her around…

My little brother found a house to rent with friends. If you do an online search for pet-friendly housing in the college town, you will find homes that rent to students. The rent cost for my brother was no more than living on campus.
I have found such housing for several people that ask me.

my dog has several tumors or grouths that i think should probabbly be removed, does any one no of a less expensive or financial aid program that will be able to help me get my dog the vet. care he needs?

I know that your local animal control can recommend you to a vet that has such financial programs or even help you out with a waver from the state.
